Thisvi McCormick holds an MLADC license, utilizing a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to assist clients in navigating their recovery journey.
What is SFBT:
Solution-focused brief therapy contends that people are equipped with the skills to create change in their lives, though they may need helps in refining and identifying those skills. SFBT recognizes that people already know, on some level, what change is needed in their lives and SFBT practitioners help clients to clarify their goals. The counselor will help the client to identify a time in life when the present problem was not detrimental and evaluate what factors were different and what solutions may have been present at that time.
What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy:
Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps patients understand the thoughts and feelings that influence behaviors. CBT is commonly used to treat a wide range of disorders including addictions, depression, anxiety and phobias.
